What You’ll Do

In this role, you will lead and inspire our Event Marketing team, including full-time staff, part-timers, and agency partners. You’ll own the strategy and execution for marketing 240+ showcases and 100+ tournaments each year, from campaign planning and budgeting to efficient, on-time promotion. Your work will grow and energize our audience of athletes, parents, and club coaches through targeted, data-driven campaigns, expanded prospect lists, and standout marketing deliverables from events. You’ll work closely with teams across the company, including social media, creative, digital, audience & experience, sales, and event operations, to deliver hype-worthy promotions, compelling marketing campaigns, and unforgettable live coverage. Every decision you make will be grounded in performance metrics, from registrations to channel ROI, ensuring each event is more impactful than the last. Prep Network is a sports company that connects high school athletes with college coaches. Through our nine brands, we publish over 4,000 articles each month and actively scout talented athletes across the U.S.  We aim to discover and promote promising prospects who aspire to play at the collegiate level.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the Event Marketing team, including full-time staff, part-timers, and agencies by setting clear expectations, developing talent, and fostering accountability across social, content, and campaign functions.
  • Own and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for 240+ showcases and 100+ tournaments annually, including campaign planning, budgeting, and promotional calendar oversight to drive registrations and revenue.
  • Expand and engage event audiences through targeted, data-driven campaigns. You will build and refine prospect lists, grow outreach channels, and develop new ways to reach athletes, parents, and coaches.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, digital, audience & experience, sales, and event operations teams to deliver impactful marketing campaigns.
  • Track, analyze, and optimize event marketing performance. You will monitor registrations, average registration revenue, campaign ROI and more.

Must-Haves in a Candidate

  • Event Marketing Expertise – Minimum of 3 years in a marketing manager role with proven success driving attendance for sports or live events through multi-channel campaigns.
  • Team Leadership – Experience leading and developing event-focused marketing teams and creative partners, with a track record of delivering results.
  • Project Management – Skilled at managing multiple events and campaigns simultaneously, with strong budgeting and scheduling abilities.
  • Creative Communicator – Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to craft compelling event messaging and unique brand experiences.
    Data-Driven Mindset – Uses analytics to measure performance, refine strategies, and maximize ROI.
  • Technical Proficiency – Comfortable with tools like Braze, Sprout Social, Google Ads, GA4, Tag Manager, and related marketing platforms.

Nice-to-Haves in a Candidate

  • Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS/Traction) framework.
  • Experience managing campaigns via direct mail.
  • Understanding of posting and basic site updates to promote events (No coding knowledge required)
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Experience with Slack and Asana systems is also a plus

  • Competitive Compensation.  The base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000.
